DVT : DVT would be very uncommon but certainly not outbid there'll of possibility. DVT typically would not cause s pitting edema but again, it could. I would get it looked at asap especially if you have pain. Risk factors for DVT would include smoking, obesity and sedentary periods after surgery. Get an ultrasound to be sure. Good luck

Surgery and DVT: Any orthopeidic related surgery carrries an increased risk of dvt because of some immobilization. Your surgery itself can cause leg swelling. If concerned about DVT then have a venous duplex ultrasound of your leg. This test is the gold standard to evaluate DVT in a leg.
