I am currently on the nuva ring and before the insertion i was placed on antibiotics for a bacterial infection and could i be pregnant due to the anti?

NuvaRing: there is a theoretical risk of decreased contraceptive effect with antibiotics, but clinically we don't see this. The biggest correlation is with ampicillin and tetracyclines with the Nuvaring. Always best to use condoms when on antibiotics, but your risk is very low.

Some drugs like certain antibiotics speed up the liver metabolism and therefore the breakdown of sex hormones in birth control devices. I presume you may have been on oral contraceptives prior to having the Nuvaring inserted, and you have heard that taking antibiotics might interfere with the effectiveness of the pill.
