Yeast, no, BV, yes: If BV goes untreated, the bacteria can find its' way through the cervix and into the uterus where the baby resides. This is rare because the cervical mucous plug is thick and therefore has anti-bacterial properties when present. Untreated yeast infections can cause thrush in a vaginally delivered baby.
