Now that the source of the infection is gone (the tooth) the infection should clear up however you need to finish the prescription so any of the bacteria left behind DO NOT become resistant in the off chance that you need that antibiotic again in the future. Needless Concern: The bacteria do not become resistant that easily. Since you promptly treated the source of the infection (extraction of rotten tooth), most of the problem was eradicated. The antibiotics helped clean up the remaining mess.
