Facial redness: It is not usual to have one-sided facial redness and dryness for a solid year. If you haven't been using desonide daily for the last year, then you should have no trouble using it while waiting for your appt.

No: Since you already have an appointment in place then it is advisable to keep that appointment except if the desonide cream was prescribed for the condition. A hypoallergenic facial moisturizer should do till you see the Dermatologist.
