Tricky: certainly inflammation takes time to get better. If someone had a bladder infection that is entirely treated, the symptoms would often last for a week afterwards as the bladder heals up. Many other possibilities. Including a structural problem (outpouching) that predisposes to gettting bladder infections can be painful. Or...interstitial cystitis...
