Many kinds: Neuro-ophthalmologists are usually consulted when there is a process or damage to the optic nerves and/or visual centers of the brain. Such entities as optic neuritis, optic chiasmal tumors, ocular motility disorders, neuro-degenerative disorders are all in the purview of these specialists.
