I will explain:: A total abdominal hysterectomy is removal of the uterus and cervix through an incision in the lower abdomen. An anterior/posterior colporrhaphy is the repair of vaginal wall defects known as a cystocele and rectocele. This restores normal vaginal anatomy if you have these abnormal vaginal bulges.
