What do doctors do at pelvic exams?

Look and feel: We use speculum (duckbill thing) to separate vaginal walls so we can see the vaginal canal&the cervix. It also allows us to place things in the vagina/cervix such as swab/brush for Pap smears (that take the superficial, shedded cells in cervix/vaginal for exam) and instruments for biopsy. We do the bimanual and rectovaginal exams to feel if there is any abnormal masses, tenderness, or scarring
