A member asked:

What can be done for someone with a bad kidney when there seem to be no treatment options (such as a transplant or dialysis) available?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Options?: If a patient with kidney failure cannot start some type of dialysis (D), or have a kidney transplant, the patient will die. There are patients, who have a good quality of life, on D over 100. You should speak to the nephrologist of the patient (P) to see why the P's condition is poor that the P cannot be started on some type of D. Good luck.
