No: Occult blood in stool suggests a point of bleeding from area near appendix across the colon to the rectum. This could be AV malformation, bleeding polyp, tumor, hemmorhoid or fissure. When blood is detected it has to be defined as to origin. Occassionally colonoscopy will reveal a lesion. Newer stool tests for tumor protein more accurate.

Well..: It could show blood in the stool which could mean cancer but not all blood in the stool means cancer and not all colon cancers will have a positive test. Blood in the stool, especially if the patient is anemic, should be evaluated further.
