A member asked:

Are we close to finding a cure for cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: The immunogenic proteins characterizing a number of major cancers have been defined. They have been sequenced and the functional monoclonals targeting the advanced forms of disease are in clinical trails. The vaccines for high risk patients are being developed and when given with chemo, a possible radiolabelled mAb and immunostimulant may change the entire picture of clinical cancer.
