Cough on antibiotics: You can give Zyrtec (cetirizine). Give the liquid kid for. Half the dose. You can also give over the counter cough syrup. Yogurt will help the gut tolerate the antibiotic as well. Feel better.

Mgt/follow up: There may be a second infection starting or the cough may resolve in the next few days. Continue to give your child fluids, monitor their temperature for fever. If the cough is persistent or worsens, a follow up visit is indicated. Zyrtec (cetirizine) is used as a treatment for allergies which can also trigger a cough.
