There are different: types of sclerotic lesions, some benign and some not. It is tough predict where on the spectrum yours is, without knowing the imaging features and clinical history. Sometimes it is tough even after careful evaluation of images. Additional imaging, such as MRI, may be useful to narrow the differential. Your doctor should discuss the risks, benefits,alternatives so you can make an informed choice
