Should be: Your retainer most likely does not extend that far back into your mouth.

Not connected: You must wear retainers exactly as directed by your Orthodontic Specialist, no matter what's happening w your wisdom teeth. So ask both your Orthodontist and an Oral Surgeon to discuss treatment timing with you.

Yes, but: go see a dentist relatively soon to see HOW they are coming in and if and how great the need is to have them removed (some people never need them out, others have a rather desperate need-- it varies greatly)

Take your time: When wisdom teeth cause problems, they need to come out. If you are experiencing pain, swollen gums, lymph nodes and it does not go away or if you find it difficult to open your mouth, you should see a dentist for evaluation, x-ray and wisdom teeth removal. If no symptoms, take your time.

Yes: I recommend patients wearing retainers indefinitely. You should wear your retainers even years after completing orthodontic treatment, at least at night.

Yes!: first you should know that not all wisdom teeth need to be extracted. Get an opinion from a dentist and then get a second opinion if need be. You should wear your retainer if it still fits. If it doesn't , get it adjusted by your orthodontist and continue to use it.

Make appointment: You have time because it takes time for the wisdom teeth to come in. Yes, you should continue to wear your retainers to keep your teeth from shifting while the teeth are erupting. You should make an appointment to get the teeth out.
