4 hours at most: Most general anesthetic is eliminated through the lungs and little remains behind that might make it into breast milk. That said, the best resource I have recommends a 4 hour period of pump/dump before resuming breast feeding. See: Hale,T,Medications and Mothers Milk,15ed,2012.
