No emg unless trauma: Once a baby tooth is lost, it can taking several months or more for the permanent tooth to come in... It has been almost 6 months since my own son lost his front teeth, and permanent ones have not erupted yet... The purple appearance could be the adult tooth starting to find its way into the mouth... 2 weeks for a check is fine... If lost traumatically, then I would ask for an emergency appt asap

More info needed...: Did the tooth fall out naturally or was it traumatized and avulsed? How old is your son? How long ago was the tooth lost? Unless this is truly an emergency with bleeding and swelling and severe pain, I don't see a reason for you to demand an emergency appointment since it is not an emergency. The secondary tooth is most likely trying to erupt.
