Probably: If a thyroied cancer is removed proving to be malignant and the lesion does not cross isthmus, when cervical nodes are absent in terms of mets, then the incidence of a lesion developing on the other lobe is about 9%. Many suggest total thyroid which appears to have been done in your case. As suchi ifi there was no cancer you should continue with periodic follow ups but remain NED
