Yes: Although there are many diets and fads regarding losing weight, it comes down to burning more calories than you take in will lead to weight loss and taking in more calories than you burn leads to weight gain. Running burns calories, weight loss based upon running would be dependent on your calorie intake as well as length and intensity of your running.
