Highly adjustable: One of the useful things about Neurontin (gabapentin) in the pain management is that there are widely variable effective doses in different individuals. Most people begin at 300 mg daily & work up to a typical dose of 300 mg three times a day (900 mg daily) but this can go to 1800 or even 3600 mg/day in some people. Taking 3 times a day is typical, and you can titrate the dose for best results.

Comments: Gabapentin (Neurontin) needs to be used at least every 8 hrs, but a few of my patients have taken it four times daily. Maximum effective dose tops at 1800 mg total per day, and likely, no further benefit beyond 2400 mg. Talk to your doctor about your plans.
