I just started neurontin (gabapentin) 300mg & am supposed to increase to 900mg a day. how do i divide my dose?

Suggestions: Neurontin (gabapentin) or Gabapentin has a relatively short half-life and is best taken 3 times daily, about every 8 hrs. Maximum effective dose is about a total of 3600 mg daily. Slow titration done to allow fewer adverse reactions. Would suggest you first go to 300mg twice daily for 3 or 4 days and then 300 mg every 8 hrs. Do contact your doctor and get explicit directions as to how to proceed from there.
