Likely not: There are a few medical conditions where supplemental protein might be unwise but if you are normal these products are just another simple source of nutrition.They would be helpful if you do not have an otherwise balanced diet and that is their selling point. However, most would do just as well without them. Working with a dietitian to identify weak areas in your diet might be more help long term
