I am currently on hydroxychloroquine for ra and i don't seem to ever be "pain free". any other meds i can speak to my dr about?

Several: Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) is one of many DMARD's ( disease modifying anti-rheumatic medications), most patients do well with combination of meds. Other DMARDs are: methotrexate, leflunomide, sulfasalazine, etc. Other group of medicines widely used in RA are the biologics like enbrel or humira for example. Ask your rheumatologist to seek which combination is best for you. Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) can take up to 3 mo to work.
