My daughter is 5 & 36lbs. dr gave us prescription for amoxicillin 400/5ml to treat ear infection. the dose is 10ml twice a day. is that to much?

The high end for a child weighing just under 17 kg would be about 1530 mg. The difference is trivial . Ask your doctor why he went with the higher dose. He likely has a good reason.
