Dx: must diagnose the reason first. mostly Iron deficiency in females. other reasons less often many reasons - GI bleeding, Thallasemias, CAncer, Kidney disease, chronic disease, it. deficiency etc

I asked if an anemia with genetic characteristics might require a different diagnostic work up. General information online only repeats basic tests a hematologist might do. Maybe it's not something a hematologist would diagnose? What's IFE?
