Short time: Implanted radiation beads only have a defined time in which they work based on their half-life and how many seeds were implanted. They usually only work for a few millimeters - so your risk of radiation exposure as a family member is limited to none. The type of radiation used is important in predicting how long the "radiation" lasts.
