Bad case of reflux: can cause aspiration of stomach acid into lungs causing chemical burn,inflammation,chronic cough,wheezing,and pneumonia,and chronic sore throat.This needs to be better managed so as to recur as little as possible.See Gastroenterologist for more intensive management.

Yes: If you are having severe reflux symptoms. You should see a GI physician for treatment.
