Vomiting one time, every few years, may just be related to a disagreeable meal, greasy foods, overeating, a temporary illness, use of medications, too much alcohol drinking, etc... Symptoms that recur, persist, or worry the patient can be checked out by his primary care doctor... who may think about problems like gallstones, gastric reflux, liver disorders, etc...
