GBM: Sounds desperate. This is a question for his doctors directly. There is always something that can be done, including preventing pain and suffering.

GBM: Hi, I'm so sorry to hear about ur friend, unfortunately there is no cure for GBM currently, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation have improved survival but still the survival rate is 14 to 15 months when 90 percent or more of the tumor is successfully removed surgically. search at http://clinicaltrials.gov for possible experimental treatments. Good luck

That's an answer: only his doctors know. Glioblastoma multiforme, as I am sure you are aware from surfing the net, is pretty aggressive. Any prognosis would be entirely patient/case-specific. If the patient is at an interdisciplinary brain tumor center, he's got access to experts in their fields. As a friend/family member, you are just as important as the pros, to be there for him. Curing & healing aren't the same.
