How old are you?: Are you on oral contraceptives, that should normally regulate you unless you have had an implant for at least or ongoing two years, that can cause such symptoms. You should visit your gyn for a thorough gyn and hormonal check up

Spotting: persistent spotting for 3 months warrants a thorough evaluation by a gynecologist. Could be cervical polyps (easy to fix), uterine fibroids, poly cystic ovaries (since you have the history of irregularity). Hormonal variation due to thyroid or ovarian problem. Also possible is a bleeding problem due to blood/liver/kidney problem or meds such as NSAIDs. Please schedule appointment.
