Common, but check: Unfortunately, our metabolism slows down after menopause, which can cause many of us to gain weight. But any sudden weight change (up or down) without a significant change in lifestyle can be a warning sign that there is something wrong, so best to see your primary care doc for a complete physical and to discuss. If all else is okay physically, your doc can help with a weight loss plan, too.
