Yes: Any fruit, organic or not, can be cleaned and then frozen for later use. Once frozen, they are safe from any contamination although they might get freezer burn (which is a form of drying out) if kept too long.

Yes but: Yes it is. However, washing fruit before freezing may cause it to lump together. I learned this yesterday while pitting and freezing our cherries, when my wife pointed it out.
