Absolutely: That pain is "episodic" in nature. You should really be evaluated to determine why you're having such intense pain... is it something related to your occlusion, grinding, excessive chewing, OR if it is a physical problem with the joint. Start with a local dentist who can take a medical history, examine you, and make recommendations.
