Could be serious: Hi, several things (Mallory-Weiss tear, variceal bleed, gastric ulcer) can cause blood to appear with vomiting but would need to know your meds, how much of blood was there, whether it was bright red, or if you have varices (dilated blood vessels in the esophagus). If last 2 things are true and certainly if you vomit blood again or start feeling dizzy/weak you need to go to the ER.
