Dtr has lump on rib for 1.5 yrs. was nontender is now tender to touch. nothing seen on cxr. i dont think it has grown much if at all. back to doc now?

Possibly cartilage: If lump is anterior in chest may be cartilage variation such as bifid rib or prominent cartilage ending. Cartilage is not usually seen on radiograph. You should see physician since there has been change in clinical symptoms.
