Not from 5 wks ago: Xanax (alprazolam) is a short acting benzodiazepine. Theorectically, it is possible for a drug test to be positive for benzodiazepines up to six weeks after taking Xanax (alprazolam). However, that is more likely to occur when taking high doses regularly. If you were taking only 0.25 mg every 2-3 days and have not taken any in the past 5 weeks, it is very unlikely a drug test would be positive for benzodiazepines.
