Difficult to know: Many illnesses were not diagnosed 2-3 generations ago, making it very difficult to find a family history. If your grandpa's history of aneurysm is the only thing you can find, then it may be related, but there is really no way to know for sure.

Ehlers-Danlos: Classic Ehlers-Danlos is inherited through an autosomal dominant gene. So your suspicion is likely correct. Ask about loose joints and skin too.
