Why so many tests?: sounds like you need to talk with your physician about what is bothering you that is causing all these test to be done D dimer is very non specific, there are many reasons for it to be high. When it is NORMAL DVT is very unlikely but it can be ELEVATED for many reasons. You seem to be placing too much emphasis on one test that is very non specific
