Pars defect: Follow with your orthopedist or neurosurgeon, likely the work - lifting 50 pounds- is too intense for the injury. A par defect is a fracture, stress fracture of the back portion of the vertebrae,if unstable it could lead to spondylolisthesis where one vertebrae moves forward on the other and narrow the canal. Discuss bracing, possible restrictions,alternative methods lifting.
