Pain specialist: A pain management specialist might help. Ask your PCP to refer you to one if possible. To achieve good pain control, the doctor will try to determine the origin and may use a combination of different interventions. Not necessarily a "stronger" medication.

Depression: Depression which often complicates chronic pain may not adequately treated. With major depression, the right dose of antidepressant is often the highest tolerated without significant side effects. Perhaps switching to duloxetine(Cymbalta) might treat both your depression and pain. Amiptriptyline is an excellent sleep aid, analgesic, antidepressant. Try capsaicin cream for nerve pain OTC. B12.

I am sorry: that you feel lost or abandoned by the medical community. It would be helpful to know your medical condition, history and the reason you have so much pain to start. Many times there are treatments other than analgesics for painful conditions.
