Ultrasound not exact: The ultrasound is accurate plus or minus two weeks from the actual dates estimated by the last menstrual period.

Don't worry: Was this your first sono? If so then your dates could be off. If your dates were confirmed by an earlier sono the fetus may be slightly smaller than average (half of all pregnancies are), or the ultrasound measurements may have been inaccurate. Your OB may want to repeat the exam in 2 weeks to check that the fetus is growing appropriately. We don't get bent out of shape based on 1 exam.

Sonogram is 100%: There will be a discrepancy a s the pregnancy progresses. There is less accuracy in terms of date.If you are a small individual then as the pregnancy. May reflective of the child's genetic disposition to be on the small size.
