A member asked:

Can a small cut cause sepsis? should i think i about it every time i cut myself?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: Cuts always have the potential to become secondarily infected and this, if occurring, should be managed quickly. Even if infection occurs, superficial soft tissue infection rarely creates sepsis (rapid pulse, respirations, fever or lower than normal temps and elevated WBC counts). Your question suggests anxiety disorder or just overthinking the situation. Good luck and stay well.
