ICD: If an ICD patient had a shockable arrhythmia and the ICD didn't fire or fired and didn't convert the rhythm, its not likely the AED if fired would cause a problem. If an AED were applied to a patient with an ICD and an inappropriate shock was delivered by the device after it was activated by someone, it is possible that the ICD could be damaged.
