Insulin &amp; Diabetes.: Glucose entering the blood from the stomach triggers release of insulin from the pancreas. In type 1 diabetes, people lack insulin. In type 2 diabetes, people are resistant to insulin; their insulin levels are actually higher than normal because of the body's resistance to it.
