Not really: In patients with pre-diabetes, they can present with high sugars after eating (> 140), normal fasting sugars (<100). But patients with diabetes (fasting number >126, after eating >200 usually have both types of sugars elevated, but can a a tendency to much greater sugars after eating than fasting sugars. You have diabetes!. Must be treated with both diet, exercise, and many would start meds.
