No, add other meds: Ventolin is a bronchodilators known as beta 2 receptor agonists. Ventolin works on the smooth muscle receptors of the bronchial tube to cause the muscles to relax opening the airways. If the medicine is used alone, the inflammation in the airways is not reduced and symptoms persist. Stepwise asthma treatment-consider adding other meds such as steroid inhalers to reduce inflammation for relief.
