A member asked:

How is candida glabrata diff then routine candida? is it connected to uctd, lichen sclerosis? i am using compounded boric acid suppositories

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Complicated: Usually not a pathogen, it may become a pest when on a person with weak immunity such as hiv, elderly, immune suppressing drugs, even connective tissue diseases. It is somewhat resistant to fluconazole but usually responds to nystatin. Boric acid appears to be an excellent remedy. It is much less common than C. Albicans which is usually seen associated with diabetes, antibiotics, cortisones.
