Sometimes.: Calprotectin is a biochemical test for intestinal inflammation. As such, anything which increases intestinal inflammation, such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, infectious colitis, and bowel cancer can yield positive results. There can also be false positives from certain gastrointestinal medications. If yours is high, you should discuss it with your gastroenterologist. Good luck.
