Unrealistic fear: Bits of mucus on a bowel movement are often a normal finding. If anyone told you this "automatically means cancer", this is a person that you should shun. The chances of a "little boy" having colon cancer are extremely low. If you are obsessed with the idea that your boy is gravely sick, it will have a devastating effect on both you and him. Please talk with your physician about these fears.

No-most likely not: Sometimes, you can have mucous material on your bowel movement. It does not mean cancer. Inflammation, infection can give you that. You are too young to have colon cancer-unless you have a very significant family history with colon cancer or other cancers younger than age 40. Eat well balanced diet, exercise, no smoking, no alcohol and get cancer appropriate screening test- that is what you need.
