CEA not stage: Carcinoembryonic antigen (cea) can be elevated for various reasons including cancer. It is a useful biologic tumor marker for colorectal cancer; however, it does not diagnose, stage, or prognosticate colon cancer. Additional information is needed and should be discussed with a medical oncologist.
